In the past few years, MEDDIC Academy emerged as a leader in Enterprise Sales Education. While training thousands of quota-carrying salespeople to MEDDIC, we had no course dedicated to sales managers. This course is the first one in the sales management series. (more to come).

In this course, sales enablement managers learn MEDDIPICC, of course, they learn how to inspect deals during the deal review sessions but also they have passed a thorough test and got approved.

 The Certification Test here is not just a certificate of completion that we deliver for most of our courses but a full written test (not a quiz) which usually takes an hour to complete, followed by an oral test with MEDDIC Academy's founder to review and confirm the test results, when deemed necessary. 

This course is not for everyone. Unlike many online certifications where you take a course, learn concepts and then pass an exam to get certified, here it's unlikely that someone with no sales experience in a high-end enterprise would pass just because they took the courses with us. The test goes beyond theory. You need practical experience in sales. An out-of-college individual with no or short sales experience, who has successfully completed all our courses, has a low chance of succeeding in this certification.

Upon completion of this course, AND ONLY OF YOU SUCCESSFULLY PASS THE TEST with a score of at least 50%, you Get MEDDIC Certified™ as a sales professional and as a Trainer.

Why should sales professionals be certified in MEDDIC?

The power of MEDDIC is in EXECUTION. Taking a course or reading a book can expose you to the concept. However, until you put these concepts into practice, you don’t have command of them.

The MEDDIC certification provides a way to assess and validate your Executive Knowledge of the MEDDIC approach.

The MEDDIC certification also provides you with a way to demonstrate your competency in this practice for employers and others.

Why should employers hire MEDDIC certified™ sales professionals?

The certification goes beyond assessing your knowledge of the theory of MEDDIC. It evaluates your ability to apply the process in real-world scenarios and case studies.

The MEDDIC certification is a credential that signifies that someone truly understands and can apply MEDDIC in real-world scenarios. In an interview, a candidate can talk about her or his knowledge of MEDDIC, but the MEDDIC certification provides third-party validation of this knowledge.

How do I become MEDDIC certified™? How does the exam work?

The certification exam offered at the end of the course has one, sometimes two steps.

First, you complete an online exam. The exam consists of questions, case studies, and scenarios. For each, you will be asked both multiple-choice and open-ended questions to assess your ability to apply MEDDIC in a variety of sales situations. The written test requires about an hour and can be completed online from any computer at any time.

If we estimate that the score is "too low", unfortunately there will be no second step. If your score is high enough, and if we have not interacted with you in the past, during a workshop or training, then we may want to validate your results during a live interview before certifying you. The interview will give you will have a chance to comment on your answers and to reply to additional questions asked by the interviewer on the cases exposed in the written test. You will also receive feedback on your written answers. The interview’s duration is about 30 minutes.


What are the competencies assessed in the certification process?

The certification exam and interview will assess your ability to:

  • Integrate MEDDIC into an existing sales campaign.
  • Ask MEDDIC questions when interacting with prospects.
  • Identify and use metrics as part of the sales conversation.
  • Recognize, get access to, and effectively communicate with the economic buyer in a sales campaign.
  • Understand the customer’s decision criteria to either drop the opportunity or focus on the right subjects to close the deal.
  • Seek to understand the decision process to successfully navigate the sales cycle
  • Discover and use customer pain points to qualify and focus on.
  • Identify, develop and test champions to secure a favorable decision.

How long does MEDDIC Certification stay valid?

The certification is permanent. It’s a one-time qualification. You do not need to renew your certification.

How can I prove my certification and advertise it?

Once you have successfully completed the certification, you will receive a digital certificate/badge that you can share with employers and others. You will also have a digital badge that you can add to your LinkedIn profile. Moreover, you can provide a lifetime (permanent) link to your authentic certificate accessible on our website.

About the instructor

Founder of MEDDIC ACADEMY, ex-Oracle, ex-PTC, Serial Entrepreneur with 2 exits.

Darius Lahoutifard

Darius Lahoutifard, MEDDIC Academy’s founder, is a Serial Entrepreneur and a former Executive at PTC and Oracle among other software companies. His previous company, Business Hangouts, was a Google G Suite live broadcasting app, with millions of users, acquired within 3 years. He started his career as a robotics engineer. He moved to sales, where he had outstanding performances before being promoted to management. At the age of 28, he became the CEO of a subsidiary of Schlumberger, running a $10M business. Although he was quickly successful in climbing the corporate ladder, he was more interested in tech startups. Darius Lahoutifard joined PTC where he took his business unit from $4M to $27M in three years, up to 150 people, all within the most strategic region for the company: France, the fiefdom of the main competitor, Dassault Systemes. With his team at PTC, he outsold Dassault in their own home market. PTC is where MEDDIC was invented. As an early executive, he contributed to the definition and the execution of what became the world’s most renowned sales methodology: MEDDIC. After PTC he founded four startups (Enterprise Software and Internet companies) with two exits and led sales teams at established companies such as Agile/Oracle and Think3. His passion for SALES goes beyond MEDDIC. At his startups, he was always the first sales person, selling to customers, of course, but also to employees (to bring in the best talents) and to investors (to raise funds over five rounds, an aggregate of about $20M). Darius Lahoutifard received a Masters’ of Engineering degree from Ecole Centrale de Paris (where he was ranked 1st at the entrance exams) and a Certificate in Organizational Analysis from Stanford University. He is a patent holder and a published author. He has been a guest lecturer at the University of Washington in Seattle and the National Defense University in Washington D.C. Darius is multicultural, multi-national, multi-lingual and familiar with 6 languages. He has lived and worked in Asia, Europe and the US. He has been a resident of California since 2009.
